I will make sure they cannot sleep and that they will have no place to hide."Jahangir made these remarks during an emergency press conference held at his residence in Baridhara, Dhaka, at around 3:00 am on Sunday, February 23. The Home Affairs Adviser further claimed that "The AL’s allies are making every effort to destabilise the country. Since they have laundered a large amount of money abroad, they are using it. With this money, they are attempting to create an unstable situation in the country. We will not allow this under any circumstances. We will resist it by all means."

He that the required forces would be deployed both day and night to counter any such efforts. "I will make sure they can't sleep and have no place to go," he added.

The Adviser also mentioned that all law enforcement agencies had been instructed to increase patrol activities. "Starting tomorrow, law enforcement agencies will take measures to prevent any untoward incidents. If they fail to carry out their duties effectively, I will take action against them as well," he stated.

He reassured the public that the law-and-order situation would improve with each passing day and that there is no cause for fear of further deterioration. "We will not spare anyone who attempts to destabilize the country," he added.

When asked about calls for his resignation, with a deadline set for Monday afternoon, the Home Affairs Adviser responded, "This is not the first time they are asking me to resign. If the reason for my resignation is something I can address, there would be no need for it. I am taking steps to improve the law-and-order situation. There has already been significant improvement, and further improvements will continue."
