
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working committee member and Dhaka city north unit’s nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa said, “The month of Ramadan is knocking at the door again with the message of blessings, mercy and redemption from Hellfire. We, therefore, have to observe fasting for the sake of Almighty Allah.” He urged to the wealthy people of the society to come forward to assist the poor. He yesterday made the remarks as the chief guest while speaking at a discussion at a local auditorium meeting titled on the significance of the holy month of Ramadan and Zakat. Jamaat Badda thana north arranged the discussion meeting. Thana Ameer MAulana Kutub Uddin presided over the meeting. Jamaat Dhaka city north unit’s assistant secretary Nazim Uddin Mollah was the special guest.
Ramadan is the month of self-purification and self-construction. The holy Quran has been revealed in this month, Abdur Rahman Musa added.
Usury is the medium oppression. Basically, there is so much unrest, poverty and chaos in the economic sector due to usury-based financial policy in the country. Zakat based financial policy should be run for poverty alleviation instead of usury based financial policy, Abdur Rahman Musa claimed. Thana secretary, ward-level leaders among others were present in the meeting.
