Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman said to the government, “Though the fascists have been deposed, ATM Azharul Islam is still imprisoned.” Jamaat Ameer clearly announced, ATM Azharul Islam must be released immediately, otherwise, they will continue their movement. Shafiqur Rahman warned the government, “If they (government) do not release ATM Azharul Islam, people will secure their demand through mass movement. He unconditionally demanded the immediate release of Azharul Islam, former acting secretary general of the party. Jamaat Ameer today made the remarked as the chief guest while speaking a pro-protest rally in the capital’s Paltan. Jamaat Dhaka city north & south units jointly arranged the protest rally demanding the immediate & unconditional release of ATM Azharul Islam. Jamaat’s central executive council member and Dhaka city south unit’s Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the rally. Central working committee member and Dhaka city south unit’s secretary Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud and Dhaka city north unit’s secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim jointly conducted the protest rally. Central executive council member and Dhaka city north unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin spoke in the rally. Central executive council member Mubarak Hossain, central working committee member advocate Jasim Uddin Sarker, Dhaka city north unit’s nayeb-e-Ameer engineer Golum Mustafa, south unit’s nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir, advocate Helal Uddin, Labor Welfare central secretary general advocate Atiqur Rahman, Dhaka district’s Ameer Maulana Delware Hossain, Dhaka city north unit’s assistant secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, Nazim Uddin Mollah, Dr Fakharuddin Manik, Dhaka city south unit’s assistant secretary Delware Hosain, Kamal Hossain, Dr Abdul Manann among others were present. 
The protest procession started from Palton intersection and ended at Shabag. Thousands of people joined the protest procession.  
 
Awami fascists have misruled the country from 2009 to August 5, 2024. They targeted Jamaat leaders and activists. For this, the fascists have arrested our top leaders and imprisoned them. In that crisis moment, ATM Azharul Islam, led the party from the front and served the organization as an acting secretary general. But Awami fascist illegal government jailed Azharul Islam in a baseless, fabricated and fictitious case. They have been imprisoned him for e13 years, Jamaat Ameer alleged. 

Dr Shafiqur Rahman at that time wanted to know specific time and date of Azharul Islam’s release. 
Shafiqur Rahaman said that their modesty is not the symbol of weakness. He hoped government would realize the matter carefully. 

People freed from all forms of oppression after the fall of dictator Sheikh Hasina but ATM Azharul Islam is exceptional. Jamaat top leaders did not compromise with fascists. The fascists proposed but our leaders did not accept. Our leaders were fearless and uncompromising. We are their heirs, he added. 

We are facing the situation with patience but everything has a limit, he further added. 

Jamaat Ameer demanded to government to return their party symbol immediately.  

The country is still now free from discrimination. We will continue our fight until the country will free from discrimination, Jamaat’s top leader said.  

Jamaat Ameer warned a special group not to use fascist words. He urged them to use political language. He called upon the countrymen irrespective of party and thoughts to build a strong form of movement against fascism.
