
The government has withdrawn the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and the President Police Medal (PPM) awarded to 103 police officials, including former Inspectors General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun and Benazir Ahmed.A gazette notification, signed by Tausif Ahmed, Senior Secretary to the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, was issued on Sunday. The notification stated: "The Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM)/Bangladesh Police Medal-Service (BPM-Service)/President's Police Medal (PPM)/President's Police Medal-Service (PPM-Service) awarded to the following 103 [one hundred three] officers, who were directly involved in the controversial 10th National Parliamentary Election held on December 30, 2018, are hereby revoked as per the order."
