
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed hope that a consensus on reforms would be reached soon, paving the way for national elections. Speaking to reporters after a dialogue between political parties and the National Consensus Commission at the Foreign Service Academy on Saturday (February 15), Fakhrul said, "We hope that consensus on reforms will be formed soon. Our expectation is that national elections will be held very soon." The meeting, led by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, began at 3:00pm and focused on discussing necessary reforms. Fakhrul explained, "The commission has called on political parties to discuss the reform reports submitted by various commissions. These reports will be reviewed, and parties will engage with the commission to reach a consensus. Today’s initial discussion included opinions from various political parties." The BNP delegation, led by Fakhrul, included Jamir Uddin Sarkar, Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Salahuddin Ahmed, and Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
